STYLE BASICS: FALL/WINTER FASHION
Forget the chill in the air - the transition from autumn to winter is a good thing. Why? Because it's the season to layer! Here are the top five items that you'll be using and reusing as the thermometer drops. There's almost no point putting them back in the closet...
BLACK ANKLE BOOTS
Take a confident step into winter with a pair of black ankle boots. A slight heel will make them perfect for day-to-night transitions. After that, it's your choice whether you prefer a lace-up, embellished or simple style. Try to stick to black, as this color is the easiest to pair with any outfit.
TURTLENECKS
No, turtlenecks aren't for schoolkids! The oversized/baggy trend has made its way into our knitwear drawer, and voilĂ the comfy, throw-over-anything turtleneck. Why is it on our must-have fall/winter list? Because you don't have to wear a scarf unless you really want to: saving valuable space in your tote for gloves.
BLACK PANTS
You might have put these into storage during the summer but, come winter, those black pants of yours are going to be indispensable. Team them with anything, whether it be an oversized turtleneck or a chic jacket. We recommend having at least two pairs in your closet.
